Going to future wird im Englischen verwendet, um Pläne und absehbare Folgen zu beschreiben. Vorsicht: Das going to future wird oft mit dem Present Progressive verwechselt!

Das Futur mit going to verwendest du, wenn du in der Zukunft

• einen Plan gefasst hast
• oder eine Sache offensichtlich ist.

Du sagst „I am going to go camping“, wenn du den Plan gefasst hast. Ebenso kannst du sagen „It is going to hurt badly“, wenn du die Folgen eines Ereignisses absehen kannst.

Wenn du keinen Einfluss auf das Ereignis hast, es sich um eine Vermutung, eine Drohung oder ein Versprechen handelt oder du spontan entscheidest, dann verwendest du das Will Future.

Going to-Future und Present Progressive

Das Present Progressive bildest du folgendermaßen:

Subjekt + be + Verb-ing + Objekt: 
I am going to the cinema.

Das Going to-Future bildest du so:

Subjekt + be + going to + Verb + Objekt: 
I am going to go to the cinema.

Auf den ersten Blick sind die Sätze sehr ähnlich, aber der Unterschied ist riesig:

• Im Present Progressive beschreibst du, was in dem Moment passiert.
• Das Going to-Future nutzt du, um Zukünftiges zu beschreiben.

Bildung von Aussagen im Going to-Future

Das Going to-Future ist einfach gebildet. Du folgst der normalen Grammatik SVO im Englischen.

Subjekt + Verb + Objekt
I play football.

Nun kommen noch die Form von be (am, is oder are) dazu und das Päckchen going to.

Subjekt + be + going to + Verb + Objekt
I am going to play football.

Das ziehst du ganz konsequent durch! Auch, wenn es mal komisch klingt.

Natürlich darfst du anstatt der langen Formen des Personalpronomens mit be auch die kurzen verwenden:

• You’re anstatt You are
• He’s/She’s/It’s anstatt He is/She is/It is

• You’re anstatt You are
• They’re anstatt They are
